Why Your Soul Wants to Prosper Before Your Life Can

Aug 24 / Dr. Larisa Scott, DC
Have you ever felt like you were doing everything right—eating better, exercising, reading devotionals—yet still feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected?

It’s not that you’re lazy or lacking willpower. It’s not even that you need more “fixes.” What your heart is craving is something deeper: a restored soul.

Scripture says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2)
Notice the order—your outward life flows from the inside out. If your soul is weary, weighed down by stress, old wounds, or relentless striving, your body and your dreams can’t truly flourish.

Why Does Soul Prosperity Matter?

Your soul—your mind, will, and emotions—impacts everything:
  • Your thoughts shape your habits and the way you see yourself.
  • Your emotions influence your nervous system and hormones.
  • Your will determines whether you can walk in alignment with God’s best or stay stuck in old cycles.

When your soul is dysregulated or burdened, no amount of green smoothies or gym sessions can bring the wholeness you long for. That’s why true wellness must address the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—working together in harmony.

Healing the Soul God's Way

God never designed you to push through life on empty. His plan is restoration, not just survival. Healing your soul looks like:
  • Renewing your mind with His truth instead of constant self-criticism.
  • Processing emotions with God rather than stuffing them down or letting them run your life.
  • Choosing alignment with His voice over the endless noise of the world.

It’s not about adding another to-do; it’s about allowing God to meet you where you are and restore what has felt broken.

Imagine this...

Imagine waking up with peace instead of panic.
Imagine having energy not just to get through the day but to enjoy your life.
Imagine feeling anchored in God’s love so deeply that stress no longer drives you, and your body begins to respond with health and vitality.

That’s what happens when your soul prospers. Your outer life begins to reflect your inner restoration.
